Guadalmina is located at the very western edge of the Marbella municipality, and in recent years it has morphed into a residential suburb of the neghbouring town of San Pedro de Alcantara.
Immediately to the west of Guadalmina is the intersection of the regions of Marbella, Benahavis and Estepona and Guadalmina is therefore well positioned for easy access to each of these neighbouring towns.
With the recent improvement to the road network in and around San Pedro, Guadalmina has become a bit of a property hotspot. It already had plenty of things going in its favour, from its lovely unspoilt beaches to its two 18 hole golf courses, but now the area is attracting a new wave of buyers to accompany those existing residents who tend to be older and Spanish.
The lack of new build options is a problem for those buyers seeking sleek and minimal homes, although there are several new build villa options available in neighbouring Casasola, within a stone's throw of the beach.
